YES. AUTUMN. NOT FALL. NOT SPRING.

I don't know how many of you know this, but the world is actually divided up into two hemispheres. People who live in the top half (the northern hemisphere) are always in the season opposite to those living in the bottom half (the southern hemisphere). I actually live in a place called Australia – in the southern hemisphere. So, when I saw that this month's theme was “Spring”, and things associated with Spring-ly activities and such, I just had to rebel and do the opposite, like the amazing hemisphere that I live in.

SO IT'S AUTUMN, yet no leaves fall. Hey, I just got why the Americans call it Fall – because the leaves fall. Ahaha, that's actually pretty cool!
...but not as cool as Autumn.

Recently, I've take up drawing with crayons, probably because I bought a really cool 64 pack by Crayola with a little “built-in perfect-tip sharpener.” They're non-toxic too, bonus! So yeah, I've got a heap of amazing drawings now that I've done with my three year old cousin, but I don't know what to do with them all. I've been using some as wrapping paper, but I don't know many people who have birthdays soon. Only, like, six. I have about 40 pieces of paper, so if I want to use them all for wrapping paper, I'll probably have to wait until July, ‘cause about half the people I know are born in July (weird, isn't it?). The problem is, July is ages away (and not in Autumn at all, so the orange leaves I drew wouldn't really work...but they wouldn't work anyway because the leaves don't really turn orange at all...).

A quick question for you all...who goes out of their way to step on an especially crunchy looking leaf? I know I do. I even joined the group on Facebook. I think it's cool how people make really creative and/or random groups on Facebook. My friend made one the other day called, “I could never find a mug or keychain with my name on it” – and for me, it's true, because I never could. See, my name's Johanna, and although it's the 400-and-somethingth most popular girl's name, they never have it. It's always Joanna, Joanne, Hanna, Hannah. It's utterly annoying, if you ask me.

SO. 2010 is a big year for me (or my wallet, I should say). All (no, a lot) of my friends turn 16, and 16 is one of the great numbers (the other great numbers are 18, 21, and 50). So naturally I have to buy amazing presents for all my friends. One of my friends turns 16 this Thursday (which also the day of my school's swimming carnival), and I went halves for a country road bag with one of my other friends. It cost $60. That's like six hours pay (or a week and a bit from my allowance). It's a lot of moolah in my books. It's like nothing to my dad, who last week spent like $700 buying new clothes for himself, but to me, it's a lot. She better like it. No, I know she will – she's wanted one since forever. Another of my friends is getting her a charm for her Pandora bracelet (which is smart, because you can get really nice ones for only $30!), and I know she'll love that. My little group has planned a little mini-party at the swimming carnival for her – there's gonna be cake, and soft drinks, and chips, and lollies, and it's going to be amazing! Then we have her actual party the night after. She's having a costume party, and I'm not completely sure what I'm going to come as, but I'm thinking Smurfette. Owl me if you have a better idea, because I'm not too sure about it. Hahah.

OMGOSH. Before I forget/go over my word limit, JUSTIN BIEBER is coming to Australia! I'm oh-so excited! My Dad rolled his eyes when he found out, which is so typical, but he's given me permission to camp out/fly/whatever I need to do to meet him, because my Dad's ah-mazing like that. He says that he used to follow his favourite bands/singers around the country when he was younger, so I'm allowed to do the same, as long as I pay my own way, so I'm very, very excited! I hope I get to at least see him – that would be amazing.

I'm like nearly over my word limit now, so I'm going to have to finish up, but I'd love to hear feedback from my new article theme for 2010 – “What's Happening On My Side?” It's basically what the heading suggests. The world through my eyes. If you guys don't like it, I'll obviously have to re-think, because this is for you after all.

LOVELOVELOVE,
Johanna.
