Curiosity is a bad thing.
It killed the cat.
It killed the cat's friends.
It killed the cat's family.
It also managed to kill the cat's neighbour's uncle's godfather's son.

It has never killed a human.
Yet.

Last week, I managed to save Allie (or
Rachel McAdams) from said, "curiosity.” She had been lurking within the staff room, trying to catch a glimpse of Escobar (Well, she was in the basement. Or dungeon. Whichever you prefer. For all purposes of this article, I will refer to it as the basement. It sounds safer and much less likely to get us sued for torture and imprisonment, or whatever you guys call it these days).

Now, as the basement is off-limits, you can bet your socks that I was curious as to what Allie was doing so close. I've never been one to pry into someone's business nor have I been one to let someone know of my presence as long as it was avoidable. However, both of these were not applicable to the current situation - though I could get as close as possible to receive what I wanted - both mentally and physically.

I managed to sneak my way over to Allie's side and as she peered into the keyhole leading to the stairs down, I whispered in her ear, "What are you doing here?"

She jumped a mile.

I had been ready to name her innocent (innocent until proven guilty, right?) but the way she babbled on and on about something how she had left her curlers down there, or her contacts, or something around those words, I could do nothing but shake my head disappointingly at her.

I told her that she mustn't do such things. It was bad enough that she was running around during office hours but to make her way over to the forbidden area too?! Despicable.

She was never to find out who Escobar was. No one could. It was for the safety of not only The Whisperer staff but for the benefit of HEX as well. No one was to find out that he is Court and JJ's love child gerbil/hamster nor were they to realize that he lived in our basement.

I let her go with a warning and sternly spoke to myself as well.
I would never tell anyone about him.
Except... I just did.
